We, a group of eleven, had a trip to Bhuvangiri and Warangal on 12 Jan 2008. Bhuvangiri fort is on the way to Warangal. It was built on the top of a very huge rock bed, rather a plateau. To reach the main fort, we had to climb the rock to the top. It was an adventurous journey, although very slippery.
On the way to Bhuvangiri fort |
There is a huge natural water tank on the top, so the royals used the concept of water harvesting centuries back!
Then
we turned to thousand pillars temple. As it is known, but the current
temple does not have so many pillars. The temple was pillaged and
ravaged during the reign of Moghul during 17th century. I found the temple compound very dirty without much maintenance.
